. Archie's little J-3 had been destroyed but was disassembled and taken to the home of Tom and Johnny Crowell. Here it would undergo a major transformation. The engine was reworked for more power, and the wings were clipped for a total of 7 feet for better maneuverability. The paint would be a sharp red and white sunburst. That airplane would join the ranks of the barnstormers.
